Sapphire In The East

Dewy morning meets the waking eyes
And again comes the debate that confuses the mind
Get up and meet the harsh reality or
Continue the eternal sweet dreams
Where the imaginary lover holds one hand out
Waiting to lead to the flowery garden
Paradise created by the longing mind

Though kick away the blanket, slam shut the alarm
Walk out the door and splash the face with cold water
Outside the window the sun is yet to rise
When it does it reflects on the buildings
Into the windows of the apartment
Onto the rugs on the floor
Isn't it as beautiful as sunset
Unless that you look at it as welcome to real life

In the dreams, the mind-made paradise
Meals, garments, not something worthy of worries
Joking and laughing, engaging in battles that you never lose
I am the king in my dream, a slave in reality
Sneakers thud the pavement, yeah I'm awake

Even early in the morning as I prayed
Somehow suddenly my heart throbs a sad rhythm
Certainly you cannot just live in a dream
Dull yet colorful notes and platinum cards
They never even peeked into there
There is paradise as God confirmed
To reach, I must cross over hell

Sometimes I wonder to myself
Isn't real life already miserable enough?

One day dreams and reality will meet
Embrace and melt in each other
And become one
